Thirthan Valley Cottage x 8MH

Located on the bank of Kalwari stream, which joins up with the Tirthan River about 500mts down the stream. We are in the eco­-zone of Great Himalayan National Park which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by orchards and step-farming fields on one side and pine and deodar forests on the other, our cottages are literally in the lap of nature. Your stay is bound to form a lasting camaraderie with nature and the valley. With an abundance of trout, the valley is a virtual paradise for anglers. (The fishing season starts on 01 March and ends on 31st October.

The space

Large, plush rooms with plenty of natural light come equipped with an oil heater each. Hot water is available 24/7. For your indoor time, LCD TVs connected to Tata Sky keep you company.

Pricing

• Extra mattress charges for  12 years and above – 2000/ per night
• Extra mattress for any child 5 years – 12 years old – ₹1500/ per night. ( please note that whether you wish to avail of the extra bed or not, the charges will be applicable)
• For pet parents- we are pet friendly, however, your pet has to be under supervision at all times. Outside of the room/cottage, we’d expect you to keep your pet leashed. Also, please carry the bedding/leashes along. Food for the pet can be arranged at an extra cost and there is a service charge of 200/ per day per pet. Any damage to furniture, linen, or otherwise will be chargeable.
• In case you’re getting a driver along, please note that we provide accommodation/tea/all meals at 1200/  per night. In case you wish to avail only the food facility for him- it is 800/ per day.

Telephone service is fairly good and we get 4g reception of Airtel, Jio and BSNL work the best, Vodafone unfortunately, does not work.

All meals are freshly prepared with organic ingredients sourced locally from the farmers of the Valley.

TIMING OF MEALS-Timings for the dining hall:

• Breakfast –   8.30 am -10.30 am
• Lunch –  1.30- 3 pm
• Dinner – 8 pm-9.30 pm

The kitchen will remain closed from 3.30 pm-5 pm

(The staff at GFC work hard to make your stay comfortable, and because some of them stay some distance away, we try to adhere to ending our meals on time,  so please place your orders well in advance).

SMOKING -Kindly do not smoke inside the cottages. (The management takes this matter quite seriously) And no! Hookahs are also a big no-no inside! The decks are equipped with ashtrays, so please feel to smoke there.

• We fall in the great Himalayan national park ecozone and no loud music or noise is allowed at any given time on the property- whether it is during the day or night.
• We encourage soft music and conversations which do not disturb the forest life, the village people, or your fellow guests.
• In case you’re looking at partying loudly or having animated and very loud conversations late into the night, this is not really the place you’d like to book.
• The cottages have wooden flooring and somewhat thin walls  (‘in diwaron ke kaan hain’)  and thereby sound carries quite clearly to the other rooms. Kindly refrain from playing music or talking loudly at all times.

SAFETY PROTOCOL- Keeping in mind the threat of COVID, we urge guests to maintain all safety protocols on the property.
