More about Hamta
Hamta (also spelled as “Hampta”) valley is a remarkable region in Manali. It is the basecamp and the beginning point of the famous “Hamta Pass” Trek. In the past, Hamta valley was a mere passage for shepherds and horse herders to travel between Kullu and Spiti Valley. But now, it has become one of the popular trekking destinations. At a height of 4400 meters, Hamta pass is a blissful and transcending trek that takes you along Jobri, Chandra River, and the beautiful meadows of Chikka, Jwaara, Balu ka Ghera, Sheogra, and Chatru. It is a small passageway that connects Manali in Kullu valley and Chandratal in Lahaul & Spiti valley.
